Curriculum Vitae
Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts School of Law and is a practicing attorney. As a licensed member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the United States Federal Court Bar for the District of Rhode Island, Jennifer serves clients throughout the State of Rhode Island. Jennifer is a seasoned advocate in the areas of civil litigation, human and civil rights, personal injury law, family law, LGBTQI+ advocacy, arts and entertainment law, business law, and probate law. Jennifer is also a patron of the arts and social justice communities and is passionate about her work to support artists, musicians, composers and nonprofit organizations.
Jennifer has spent decades as a community activist, a business leader, a nonprofit director, and an accomplished pianist, musician and composer. Jennifer also received her Master of Arts degree from Goddard College where she received awards for her work in the fields of creativity and social policy. Jennifer attended the University of Rhode Island and earned a baccalaureate degree in Women’s Studies while founding a collegiate organization for the betterment of students on campus.
Jennifer’s unique ability to counsel clients in the law is an essential part of her practice. Jennifer understands the law and its nuances, bringing a fresh insight to each client’s case. Jennifer has also been a beacon in the Rhode Island arts and music industry, having received numerous accolades for her contributions to the creative community including being named one of Rhode Island’s “Most Influential People in the Arts.” Currently, Jennifer leads a local band, Jen Minuto and The Better Angels, recording original compositions and performing throughout the region. The band’s name, The Better Angels, is a tribute to President Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address.
As a nonprofit leader, Jennifer also provided fierce advocacy to the elder community and their families. Jennifer has also served as a member of the Governor’s Council on Higher Education and was a Rhode Island delegate to the National Women’s Political Caucus. Jennifer is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the United States Federal Court District of Rhode Island. Jennifer is also the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Legal Education Foundation, which provides meaningful civics education to the students of Rhode Island.
